Making The Difference
AIMS OF THE FUND
The aims of the fund are twofold
To improve the resources and quality of education at Loldia Primary School
To provide secondary education through scholarships to the children
Since its establishment the Fund has, with wide support from around the world,
Made vast improvements within the school
7 new classrooms have been built
Existing classrooms have been renovated
Over 5,000 text books, 250 desks and chairs, and lockable cupboards have been provided.
New homes for teachers have been built
A toilet block is now in place
The Fund also support a number of teaching staff (currently 15) and have provided school inspections and assessment testing. All of which raises the standard of Education and morale within the school.
In addition to support for the school the fund is dedicated to providing secondary scholarships giving the chance to some children to continue their education.
The school is proud of its talented and ambitious children but the few resources from the government are completely inadequate to the running of an effective educational institution.
Secondary school education is fee paying and, in Kenyan terms, very expensive so there is practically no chance of Loldia graduates attending when the basic fees for one child alone would be more than the average annual family income.
The Fund works towards addressing these problems the best they can through fund raising and sponsors for the pupils
We have, over the years, had amazing support from individuals, Companies and other schools but there is still much to be done to ensure we can continue improving the quality lives of these children through a solid education.
